Rolls-Royce has collaborated with University of Nottingham and Ansys to initiate the development of advanced aero engines.

The five-year partnership will develop new technologies to optimise the amount of oil and air flow into the engines.

The modelling and simulation techniques involved with gearboxes and bearing chambers will also be optimised.

The project forms part of the Clean Sky 2 programme and will realise the development of emission-free, cleaner aircraft engines.

US-based radar services provider Fortem Technologies has raised $15m through a Series A funding round.

Data Collective Venture Capital LLC led the funding round, which also involved the participation of Mubadala Investment Company, Boeing HorizonX, and Manifest Investment Partners.

The funding will be used by Fortem Technologies to enhance its TrueView radar system to meet the growing demand.
