Boeing has secured a $2.53bn contract from United Airlines for the delivery of nine 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

The new Dreamliner 787-9 aircraft will replace the existing wide-body aircraft of United Airlines.

United has already placed an order for four 787-9 jets in July. The latest contract takes the United’s fleet of 787-9s to 64.

With a range of 14,140km, the aircraft is expected to reduce the fuel expenses and emissions by 20%.

SAF Group has awarded a contract to Airbus for the delivery of six new helicopters for an undisclosed sum.

SAF Group is scheduled to take the delivery of three light twin-engine and three light single-engine helicopters next year.

To be deployed in Metropolitan France and in Reunion Island, the rotorcraft are capable of performing passenger transport, emergency medical service (EMS), aerial work, and mountain rescue operations.

The latest deal increases the fleet of Airbus helicopters with SAF to 50 helicopters.

Aegean Airlines has reached an agreement with Pratt and Whitney for GTF engines to power its 62 Airbus A320neo aircraft.

Pratt and Whitney has also signed the long-term EngineWise Comprehensive service agreement to provide engine maintenance services to the airliner.

“The aircraft will be equipped with advanced Honeywell HTF7500E engines to enhance their operational efficiency, reliability, fuel efficiency, and dispatchability.”

A total of 30 firm, 12 option, and up to 20 leased aircraft will be equipped with the GTF engines, under the contract.

The GTF engines are designed to reduce the fuel consumption by 16%, NOx emissions by 50%, and noise levels by 75%.

Boeing has been awarded a contract by GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes (GOL), an airline based in Brazil, for the delivery of 135 737 MAX aircraft.

Boeing will be responsible for the delivery of 105 737 MAX 8 and 30 737 MAX 10 aircraft, under the contract.

Boeing has delivered three MAX 8 aircraft to GOL from July to October. It is expected to deliver four more aircraft by the end of the year.

The deliveries under the contract are scheduled to be completed by 2028.

The new fleet will allow GOL to renew the existing fleet and operate long-haul flights.

Embraer has opted for Honeywell engines to power its Praetor 500 and Praetor 600 business jets.

The aircraft will be equipped with advanced Honeywell HTF7500E engines to enhance their operational efficiency, reliability, fuel efficiency, and dispatchability.

The scope of the contract also includes delivery of auxiliary power units, cabin management systems, pressure and control solutions, environmental controls, and optional inertial reference units.

The aircraft will also feature Upper Tech Panel displays and provide cabin management features on personal devices through Honeywell Ovation Select.

Esterline Technologies has been agreed to be acquired by the US firm TransDigm Group in an all-cash transaction worth $4bn.

Esterline will receive $122.50 in cash from TransDigm for each of its outstanding stock, under the terms of the transaction.

Scheduled to be completed by the end of next year, the acquisition will enhance the proprietary and sole content portfolio of TransDigm.

Boeing has acquired KLX Aerospace Solutions for $4.25bn.

Initially announced in May, the all-cash transaction includes Aerospace Solutions Group of KLX.

The acquisition is intended to reinforce Boeing’s position in the aerospace market and enhance its services business.

Prior to the deal, Boeing successfully completed the acquisition of Millennium Space Systems in September.
