Aircraft leasing company BOC Aviation has delivered the third of three new Airbus A350-900 aircraft to Qatar Airways.

With this delivery, the leasing company has completed the purchase-and-leaseback transaction agreement with the operator. Both companies signed the agreement in August.

The new A350-900 aircraft are equipped with Rolls Royce Trent XWB engines.

BOC Aviation managing director and chief executive officer Robert Martin said: “This speed at which this transaction was executed reflects the agility of both teams, and speaks to the close cooperation and strong relationship that we have built up with Qatar Airways over the past 20 years.

“We are honoured to partner again with Qatar Airways in their fleet and network development plans.

“With this addition of three Airbus A350 aircraft, we continue to build our portfolio of popular, in-demand aircraft on long-term leases placed with industry-leading airlines like Qatar Airways.”

In a separate development, BOC Aviation has delivered the third of seven new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners committed for lease to Air Europa.

Under a purchase-and-leaseback transaction, the company is also expected to deliver another aircraft later this year. The remaining three units will be delivered later next year.

All 787-9 Dreamliners will be fitted with Rolls Royce Trent 1000 engines.

Headquartered in Singapore, BOC Aviation owns a fleet of 499 aircraft, managed and on order. It has leased its owned and managed fleet to 92 airlines in 40 countries and regions.
