Singapore-based ST Aerospace has secured a $30m contract to provide maintenance support to Lufthansa Cargo’s MD-11 fleet of aircraft.

Under the new five-year MD-11 heavy maintenance support contract, ST Aerospace will perform both light and heavy C-checks on the fleet from next year.

Since 2014, the company has been providing heavy C-check services for Lufthansa Cargo’s MD-11 fleet.

“This exclusive contract is an affirmation of the quality that ST Aerospace puts into its services and support.”

ST Aerospace president Lim Serh Ghee said: “This exclusive contract is an affirmation of the quality that ST Aerospace puts into its services and support.

“We greatly value the partnership we have with all our customers, whom we strive to develop long-term relationships with so that we can leverage the rapport built to create more value-add.”

ST Aerospace currently operates a global network of maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) facilities in the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe, accommodating 40 wide-body, 27 narrow-body and 24 general aviation aircraft simultaneously.

In a separate development, its US affiliate VT San Antonio Aerospace (VT SAA) has won a deal from Air Canada to offer interior reconfiguration services on part of the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet.

The cabin reconfiguration contract is based on a long-term agreement previously signed between ST Aerospace and Air Canada last June for heavy maintenance services on the latter’s 787 aircraft fleet.

Ghee added: “Air Canada is a valued long-standing partner to ST Aerospace, and we have supported them over the years in heavy maintenance, as well as a number of cabin upgrade programmes, including turnkey solutions covering engineering design, certification, kitting and modification.”
