Saudi Arabian airline Saudia has installed SITAONAIR’s Internet ONAIR in-flight Wi-Fi solution across 76 aircraft that serve 34 destinations worldwide.

Internet ONAIR is equipped with a new e-ticket solution, designed jointly by SITAONAIR and Saudia, to provide free in-flight Wi-Fi to First and Business Class passengers by entering an e-ticket code into the access portal.

The solution is integrated with Saudia’s customer relationship management (CRM) systems to allow the airline to create special in-flight connectivity services for certain passenger sections, including frequent flyers, and specific routes.

It also features an improved appearance with more than 90% of all Wi-Fi sessions used on mobile devices.

“This total enhancement has enabled us to reconfigure our Wi-Fi price plans for all our passengers, enabling us to offer the service for a lower cost.”

Internet ONAIR includes a new, ergonomic website design, as well as improved navigation and an enhanced user interface.

It is also designed to offer faster speeds for registering and validating credit cards, as well as beginning Wi-Fi sessions.

Saudia director general Saleh Al Jasser said: “As an airline, we recognise our passengers’ desire for seamless connectivity that speaks to them as an individual, it is at the core of our digital transformation vision.

“SITAONAIR’s flexible approach and digital harmonisation mastery have enabled us to offer a more bespoke, enhanced Internet ONAIR experience, in full support of our innovative IFC strategy.

“This total enhancement has enabled us to reconfigure our Wi-Fi price plans for all our passengers, enabling us to offer the service for a lower cost.”

SITAONAIR has also collaborated with Saudia and Amadeus to develop an application programming interface (API) integration project to provide passengers with additional control over their in-flight connectivity experience.
