Lockheed Martin Commercial Engine Solutions (LMCES) has won an exclusive, five-year contract to provide engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for Air Wisconsin Airlines’ CRJ200 fleet powered by CF34-3 engines.

Air Wisconsin Airlines is a US-based regional airline that serves across North America and Canada.

The deal also covers two one-year options that could extend contracted engine MRO services through 2023.

To be started in the second quarter of this year, the engine repair and overhaul work will be conducted at LMCES’ facility in Montreal, Canada.

"It is a validation that our airline heritage and collaborative approach provide an offering our customers value."

The facility has around 20 years of MRO experience on the CF34-3 engine.

Lockheed Martin Commercial Engine Solutions president Bill Brotherton said: "This is the second long-term, exclusive fleet agreement we have signed already this year.

"It is a validation that our airline heritage and collaborative approach provide an offering our customers value.

"Also important in the marketplace is LMCES’s long-term commitment to the CF34 engine, which we consider to be part of our core business. We are honoured to be Air Wisconsin’s long-term partner."

LMCES’s Montreal facility provides MRO and test, as well as component and part repair services for commercial engines that power CRJ-200, D-8, 707, as well as A320 and 737 family of aircraft.

Lockheed Martin Canada chief executive Charles Bouchard said: "This second major and exclusive contract in the span of a year is a clear recognition of our team’s talent and dedication, as well as being a welcome development for the Montreal aerospace cluster."

In March, LMCES had been selected by Frontier Airlines for an exclusive eight-year contract to perform engine MRO on CFM56-5 engines for their Airbus A319s and A320CEO aircraft.
