Private aircraft manufacturer Embraer Executive Jets has entered into memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Indamer (ICPL) to provide maintenance support for mid-size Legacy 500 airliners in India.

The move is part of Embraer’s strategy to put all product support in place across the globe prior to the Legacy 500 jetliners’ anticipated entry into service in 2014.

Currently, the aircraft is in the flight-test stage following successful testing of the first prototype on 27 November 2012.

Embraer Executive Jets Asia Pacific customer support and services director André Luis Vieira de Sousa said that the MoU illustrates the company’s commitment to provide the best possible customer support infrastructure for current and future operations of Embraer Executive Jets in the country.

"By looking ahead, we will ensure the efficient operation for all our business aircraft operating in the region," he said.

ICPL, which is the authorized service centre for the Embraer Aircraft in India, is one of the initial 17 service centres worldwide to enter into MoU with Embraer Executive Jets for Legacy 500 product support.

It is also one of the two authorised service providers for Embraer Executive Jets in India..

ICPL provides line and base maintenance services for the portfolio of Embraer’s Executive Jets including the Phenom 100, Legacy 600, Legacy 650 and Lineage 1000.

In Asia Pacific, Embraer Executive Jets operates a network of 11 authorised service centres in Australia, India and Singapore to offer MRO services to its executive jet operators in the region.

All these centres are supported by a material support team and stock of spare parts at the company’s regional distribution centre in Singapore.

Embraer Executive Jets maintains a service network of some 70 owned and authorised service centres globally.
