Gulfstream Aerospace has selected Esterline to provide its flight deck solutions for the recently launched G500 and G600 business jets.

Under the contract, Esterline Control & Communication Systems group will supply hardware and software, including Korry controls and displays, Mason cursor controllers, and Avista software verification services.

The aircraft systems and Esterline’s control solutions interface through an ARINC 825 controller area network.

Key components include overhead panel with touch-screen controllers, circuit-breaker panel, dimming control and 389-model 5/8in switches and pilot and co-pilot cursor-control devices.

Last month, Gulfstream Aerospace selected GE Aviation and Triumph Aerostructures – Vought Aircraft Division to provide avionics and power systems and wing structural components for the G500 and G600.

The G500 and G600 are scheduled to enter service in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

Powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PW800 series engines, the aircraft have maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925 and cabin altitude of 4,850ft at FL510.
