Emirates has signed a ten-year after-market services agreement with Unison Industries for the support of GE90 and GP7200 engine fleets.

Running until 2025, this agreement includes external Unison new parts and component repairs for GE Aviation and Engine Alliance engine families in the Emirates fleet.

Unison Industries president Giovanni Spitale said: "Unison is now primed to provide unparalleled support to Emirates operations."

"This agreement solidifies Unison's key relationship with the world's largest operator of A380 and B777 aircraft."

This agreement will enable Emirates to leverage Unison's strengths in exchange programmes, upgrades and repairs.

Unison claims that its parts and services are intended to reduce maintenance costs, lower cost of ownership and provide fleet reliability.

Among the external engine parts manufactured, supported and repaired by Unison Industries include the ignition system, power and control harnesses, sensors and fluid conveyance systems for air, oil, fuel and hydraulics.

An operator of the GE90-powered Boeing 777-300ER, Emirates also operates the largest fleet of A380s powered by the GP7200 engine produced by the Engine Alliance, a joint company of GE Aviation and Pratt & Whitney.

With a fleet of 247 aircraft, Emirates currently flies to 150 destinations in 80 countries.
