Jet Aviation Basel has announced that it has been appointed as an authorised service centre for Embraer super midsize Legacy 600 and large Legacy 650 executive jetliners.

The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at EBACE 2013 event.

Jet Aviation Basel is now a fully authorised facility, which will provide line and base maintenance to Embraer Legacy 600 and 650 airliners.

Jet Aviation Basel Maintenance Center vice-president and general manager Johannes Turzer said that the company would provide maintenance, exterior painting and IFE upgrades, as well as warranty & AOG support to the growing Embraer customer base in EMEA.

"We are very pleased to join Embraer’s global network of authorised service centers and look forward to a long and productive working partnership with Embraer," Turzer added.

Embraer Executive Jets customer support and services for Europe, Middle East and Africa vice-president Pedro Paiva said: "While expanding our global footprint and services, we seek partners with similar business philosophies."

Jet Aviation also operates authorised Embraer service centres in Boston, Bedford in Massachusetts; St Louis, and Teterboro in New Jersey.

Embraer’s Legacy 600 incorporates most of the design features from the Embraer ERJ 145 and ERJ 135 families and can accommodate up to 13 people.

The aircraft is powered by two Rolls-Royce AE3007A1E turbofan engines, features a flight deck, is equipped with a Honeywell Primus Elite avionics suite, integrated stand-by instruments system, electronic flight bag and central maintenance computer, coupled vertical navigation (VNAV).

The Legacy 600 entered service in 2002; it has a range of 3,400nm and can fly with 14 passengers under NBAA IFR conditions.

Powered by powered by two Rolls-Royce AE3007A2 turbofan engines, the Legacy 650 jet provides seating for up to 14 people.

It features a Honeywell Ovation Select cabin management system that offers passenger controls at all seats including iPod/iPhone docking stations, Blu-ray players, radio, 3D maps, and wireless remote control.

To date, more than 200 Legacy 600/650 jetliners are in-service worldwide.
