Bombardier Commercial Aircraft has signed a letter of intent with Indian airline SpiceJet to deliver 25 Q400 turboprop aircraft and offer purchase rights for 25 additional aircraft.

The $1.7bn deal will allow the airline to expand its services to small towns and cities in India.

Airbus has secured an order from Commercial aircraft lessor GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) for up to 100 A320neo family aircraft, driven by CFM’s LEAP-1A engines.

The new aircraft will provide GECAS with increased fuel-efficiency, long-range, and increased seating capacities.

The order increases the total number of A320neo family aircraft ordered by GECAS to 220.

French firms SOGECLAIR and AddUp have formed a joint venture to set up a new company named PrintSky.

The JV will develop industrial production projects involved in additive metal manufacturing for the aerospace and defence markets.

SOGECLAIR will own 51% in PrintSky, while the remaining 49% will be owned by AddUp.

Parker Aerospace has secured a contract form Rolls-Royce to supply engine build-up unit, pneumatic equipment, and combustion sub-systems for Trent 7000 engines, which will power the A330neo aircraft.

In a separate contract with Textron Aviation, Parker Aerospace has agreed to provide main wheels, nose wheel and brakes for new Cessna Denali turboprop aircraft.

United Technologies has placed a $1bn order with MB Aerospace for aero-engine components and assemblies.

MB Aerospace will supply complex performance-critical aero-engine parts and assemblies for the Pratt & Whitney programme for a period of ten years.
