Deals this week: Airbus, Arianespace, FACC

United Airlines has signed an agreement with Airbus to replace the existing order for 35 A350-1000s with 45 A350-900 wide-body aircraft.

The new A350-900 wide-body aircraft are expected to provide greater passenger comfort and contribute to the airline’s future growth.

Arianespace has secured a contract from UK-based satellite services provider Avanti Communications Group to select a new launch slot for HYLAS 4 hybrid propulsion satellite.

"The new A350-900 wide-body aircraft are expected to provide greater passenger comfort."

The agreement will allow Arianespace to launch the HYLAS 4 satellite and a partner spacecraft aboard Ariane 5 rocket on 1 March 2018.

Airbus has awarded a contract to Austria-based aircraft component maker FACC to produce cabin overhead compartments and ceiling panels for its Airspace cabin concept.

The overhead compartments to be supplied under the deal will be fitted on the A320 aircraft family.

FACC will also collaborate with Airbus to develop overhead stowage compartments called Airspace XL bins for short and medium-haul aircraft.
