Global 5000

Bombardier has expanded its training network for business aircraft customers worldwide with the inclusion of a Level D full-flight simulator (FFS) for Global 5000 and Global 6000 jetliners equipped with the Bombardier Vision Flight Deck.

Installed in March 2013, the CAE-built FFS is located at Bombardier’s training centre in Dallas, Texas, US and will be ready for training in June 2013.

This addition boosts OEM-backed Global 5000 and Global 6000 airliner flight training and maintenance training, which is currently provided at Bombardier’s training centre in Montréal, Canada.

Bombardier Aircraft Training plans multiple certifications for the new simulator, in order to support its business aircraft customers.

Bombardier is the only business jet manufacturer that offers training on its own aircraft programmes.

The aircraft manufacturer uses custom classroom technology systems, a suite of high-fidelity training devices and certified Level D full-flight simulators to provide flight training and maintenance training to Learjet, Challenger and Global operators.

Bombardier operates two training facilities, in Montréal and Dallas, and has a network of facilities across the world through authorised training provider (ATP) agreements.

"We continue to leverage the latest technology and our instructors’ real-word experience to provide quality, OEM-designed training in both Montréal, Canada and Dallas, Texas.”

The pilot and maintenance instructors train operators to help maximise the safety, efficiency and dispatch reliability of their Bombardier fleet, according to the company.

Bombardier Aerospace Aircraft Training general manager Leon Botteron said Bombardier continuously evaluates its worldwide training footprint to maximise availability and convenience for its business aircraft customers.

"We continue to leverage the latest technology and our instructors’ real-word experience to provide quality, OEM-designed training in both Montréal, Canada and Dallas, Texas," Botteron added.

Powered by Rolls-Royce BR710A2-20 turbofan engines, the Global 5000 and Global 6000 jetliners can accommodate up to 19 and 13 passengers respectively.
