Boeing has unveiled plans to acquire aircraft software solutions provider AerData, expanding its services to airlines and leasing companies.

Netherlands-headquartered AerData offers software solutions for lease management, engine fleet planning and records management, as well as technical services for aircraft and engine operators, lessors, and maintenance, repair and overhaul companies.

The company has a workforce of 120 in the Netherlands, UK and Ireland.

"Increasing the efficiency of records management helps streamline the process of placing aeroplanes and other valuable assets with operators during leasing transactions."

Following the acquisition, AerData’s products will complement the integrated suite of aviation services marketed as the Boeing Edge.

The products include parts, training, engineering, maintenance and software solutions designed to help increase efficiency and profitability of airlines and leasing companies.

AerData will continue its operations under the supervision of managing directors Mark Nieuwendijk and Paul van Tol.

The deal provides AerData with access to a wider global support network to support its customer base.
