Boeing has delivered a new Next-Generation 737-800 to Russia’s national carrier, UTair, which is the first directly purchased 737-800 by the airline.

UTair’s new 737-800 aircraft has a capacity to accommodate 62 passengers, and is equipped with new Boeing Sky Interior.

The interior comprises LED lighting and curved architecture, along with modern, sculpted sidewalls and overhead bins that disappear into the ceiling.

"We successfully operate aircraft of this type and new airplanes will allow us to continue enhancing efficiency of our route network and drive customer appeal for both domestic and international flights."

Boeing Commercial Airplanes Middle East, Russia and Central Asia sales vice-president Marty Bentrott said: "The new airplanes will help UTair deliver an unmatched level of service for passengers and dramatically reduce operating costs, fuel costs and environmental impact."

The Boeing 737-800 aircraft, a part of Next-Generation 737 family, is one of the technologically advanced aircraft in the single-aisle market.

UTair CEO Andrey Martirosov said Next-Generation Boeing 737 aeroplanes meet today’s development needs of the airline by their optimised operating performance and value-for-money proposition.

"We successfully operate aircraft of this type and new airplanes will allow us to continue enhancing efficiency of our route network and drive customer appeal for both domestic and international flights," Martirosov said.

UTair currently has 40 Next-Generation 737 aircraft on order, with deliveries scheduled in the next few years. UTair is an integrated air carrier and aircraft services company, and currently operates one of the largest aircraft fleets in Russia.
