Textron’s subsidiary Bell Helicopter has secured the FAA supplemental type certification (STC) for the Bell 407GX expanded instrument panel and L-3 Wescam MX-10 quick mount installation kit.

Replacing the standard option, the expanded instrument panel offers an additional panel area for a wider range of equipment locations.

The design and layout of the larger panel enables installation of a third monitor and other mission-related equipment in front of the co-pilot.

The L-3 Wescam Mx-10 quick-mount installation kit includes the installation components, flight manual supplement and complete installation and maintenance instructions.

It allows quick and easy installation of the L-3 Wescam MX-10 camera which can be belly-mounted aft of the lower wire strike cutter, using a dovetail quick mount.

"The Bell Helicopter team worked closely with customers to solicit their input in the design of these products."

The kit is controlled by a cockpit mounted hand control and includes a laser interlock.

Both certified products are available under Bell Helicopter’s Aeronautical Accessories brand.

Bell Helicopter Aeronautical Accessories Sales manager Jennifer Lunceford said: "The Bell Helicopter team worked closely with customers to solicit their input in the design of these products.

"The result is two innovative products that help customers meet specific mission requirements."

The Bell 407GX features fully-integrated Garmin G1000H flight deck with high-resolution LCD screens that host primary flight and multi-function display information. It has a capacity to accommodate six passengers.
