AirSprint Private Aviation has agreed to purchase nine Cessna Citation CJ2+ aircraft from Innotech-Execaire, Cessna’s authorised sales representative in Canada, for $60.2m.

AirSprint president Chris Richer said the balance of range, speed and efficiency of the new jets were in line with the company’s existing Pilatus PC12 turboprop aircraft fleet.

"We are continuing to focus on safety, personalised customer service and making this transition in partnership with our clients," Richer said.

AirSprint plans to use the CJ2+ aircraft to boost its services in North America, and will gradually replace its Pilatus PC12 turboprop aircraft over the next 24-30 months.

"We are continuing to focus on safety, personalised customer service and making this transition in partnership with our clients.”

Powered by two Williams FJ44-3A engines, each generating 2,490lbs of thrust, the aircraft can accommodate six passengers in the main cabin and has a 1,600-nautical mile range, with a top speed of 774 km/hr.

Citation CJ2+ is a part of the Cessna Citation business jets line.

Cessna regional sales vice president John Young said: "The CJ2+ is the right blend of efficiency, performance, comfort and reliability to fulfil AirSprint’s mission of providing a flying experience for their clients that is exceptionally safe and convenient for both work and leisure."

The latest addition of the CJ2+ is to support AirSprint’s focus on boutique customer service and regional private air travel business.

Around 6,300 Citations have been delivered to date, making it one of the largest business jets fleet in the world.
