Pratt & Whitney has received orders for its PW4170 Advantage70 engine to power 17 Malaysian Airlines Airbus A330 aircraft at the Farnborough Air Show, UK.
The order includes engines for 15 passenger and two freighter aircraft valued at approximately $680m.
The Advantage70 technology delivers better engine performance including a 2% increase in thrust, over 1% reduction in fuel consumption, increased durability and reduced maintenance costs.
Pratt & Whitney will begin delivering the engines in 2011.
