Aerostructures Middle East Services (AMES) has opened a new engine nacelle repair facility in Dubai to serve airline operators in the Middle East.

The 2,200m² unit will provide repair and overhaul services for jetliner fleets of Airbus A320s, A330s, A340s and A380s, Boeing 747s, 767s and 777s, McDonnell Douglas MD-11s and Embraer 170/175s.

AMES will focus on repairing fan thrust reversers and will have additional capability to handle other nacelle components such as air inlets, cowl doors and nozzles.

The facility is situated in Dubai to serve a region that covers Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Yemen and neighbouring countries.

AMES has begun industrial activity for repairing Rolls-Royce Trent 700 thrust reverser doors for a Middle Eastern airline's Airbus A330 fleet, and will shortly introduce services for CFM56 engines.
