Bombardier Flight Deck Receives Transport Canada Certification

8 June 2011

Bombardier Aerospace has announced that its Global Vision flight deck has received certification from Transport Canada to feature on the Global 5000 and Global 6000 jets.

Bombardier business aircraft vice president and general manager Stéphane Leblanc said: @To date, we have completed over 600 hours of flight testing and are progressing full throttle towards certification of specific advanced features, such as the incorporation of enhanced vision and synthetic vision on the head-up display."

Certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration and the European Aviation Safety Agency are expected to follow later this year with entry into service in early 2012, Leblanc added.

The flight deck features a Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics suite, which provides an integrated flight deck to ensure interoperability between systems.

The Pro Line Fusion has four 15in diagonal active matrix LCDs arranged in a T-shape working in combination with the head-up guidance system, personalised display information formats, an electronic checklist and maps with graphical flight planning, among others.
