TITAL® Invests In the Future with Expanded Titanium Production Facilities

31 January 2007

Titan Aluminium Feinguß (TITAL®) is a leading supplier of investment casting products in titanium and aluminium alloys. From its headquarters in Germany, TITAL supplies customers around the world in the fields of aerospace, electronics, optics, industrial and medical systems, Formula One racing and general motorsport.

In recent years, the demand for titanium components in the aerospace sector has steadily increased, and a higher demand for titanium investment castings is expected over the coming years. The reason for this is, amongst other factors, the high proportion of titanium in next generation airplanes, such as the Airbus A380 and A350, and Boeing 787.

In order to satisfy this growing demand, TITAL has decided to enlarge its production capacity for titanium investment castings, to foster and strengthen its market position.

In two construction stages, a two-floor production hall with a total of 4,000m² floor space is being constructed on the company's premises, and an enlargement is also being made for a second and bigger titanium casting facility. TITAL will then be able to produce complex titanium investment castings up to 1.5m in size for its customers, according to high-quality standards and aerospace specifications.

With the biggest investment in the company's history up to 55 additional jobs will be generated at the TITAL site in Bestwig. At the same time, the production capacity for titanium investment castings will be doubled within the next two years.
