22 December 2006 11:37

Parc Aviation Japan, a subsidiary of Parc Aviation, the world’s largest provider of flight crew personnel to the aviation industry, opened an office in Tokyo on the 1st of July 2006. The newly-formed firm will cater for increased demand for specialist aviation services in Japan and the wider Asia-Pacific region. According to Parc Aviation Chief Executive Tim Shattock, the opening of the office in Tokyo is "a demonstration of our long-term commitment to serving the needs of our clients in Japan."

The establishment of Parc Aviation Japan comes on the back of a busy year for its parent company Parc Aviation, which saw continued worldwide growth for the company, with aviation business in Japan reflecting this trend. The company signed new contracts with ANA & JP Express (AJV) and Air Nippon Co. Limited (ANK).

AJV, a joint venture company set up between All Nippon Airways and Japan Post. Pilots, will be based at Narita, Tokyo, and operate B767 Freighter aircraft to points in Asia and the United States for an initial period of five years. The ANK contract will involve pilots being based at Haneda Airport, Tokyo, and operating B737-500 aircraft on domestic routes, and will run for an initial period of three and a half years. Both agreements saw the first group of pilots commencing training at Tokyo in July.

Parc Aviation currently has circa 700 pilots and engineers on assignment with more than 50 clients in 35 countries, and first entered the Japanese market in 1992. Shattock stated: "As the Japanese economy continues to recover, we are excited about the future growth prospects of our clients in Japan, and our new subsidiary enables us to ensure a continued high level of quality service."

The new Tokyo office is to be headed up by recently appointed Director of Client Services for Parc Aviation Japan, Padraic Toolan, who took up his position in Tokyo in June. Toolan brings a wealth of experience in aviation services management, having previously held senior positions in sales development and operational roles with Parc Aviation.

Parc Aviation is part of the Parc Group, and has over thirty years' experience providing key personnel to meet the operational requirements of its clients. In addition to providing flight crew personnel, Parc Aviation's range of services also includes provision of aviation maintenance personnel, EASA-approved aviation training, executive selection and consultancy services, managed aircraft movement services, and IATA Operational Safety Auditing (IOSA).
