Red Box Partnership with Flyer-Truck Ground Handling System

18 June 2008

Red Box International, the Hampshire-based Ground Power Unit (GPU) manufacturer has entered into a formal partnership agreement to market the highly successful Flyer-Truck range of ground handling systems in the UK.

The German-made Flyer-Truck range currently comprises 12 self-powered units capable of moving private and business aircraft from the smallest single seater up to a take-off weight of 20 tonnes. Suitable for both fixed and rotary winged aircraft, the units have landing gear brackets to suit virtually every aeroplane, including historic models. Recently introduced models at the top of the range have taken Flyer-Truck into the commercial sector.

"This is an ideal partnership for both companies," claims Red Box Marketing Director Adrian Jackson. "We are essentially selling to identical markets, and our products complement each other perfectly. As agents for Flyer-Truck, we shall be able to provide in-depth aftersales service to customers throughout the UK."

Under the reciprocal agreement, Maschinenbau Zaglauer, the makers of Flyer-Truck, will market and support Red Box products in Germany. They will also be incorporating Red Box ground power units as integral parts of some of their vehicles.

Flyer-Truck have been looking for an appropriate UK partner for some time and the two companies have been in regular contact since being introduced at Aero Friedrichshafen in 2007. The contract was signed during the course of the recent AeroExpo London.

Flyer-Truck’s Managing Director Werner Zaglauer sees the partnership with Red Box International as a huge step forward for his company also with regards to the overseas presence. "We are very pleased that we could win Red Box as our UK representative and combine the strengths of two strong market-leading partners," he said.

Red Box International has a range of portable Ground Power Units suitable for almost all aircraft. They also manufacture Continuous Power Supplies, high current Transformer Rectifier Units and Frequency Converters.
