AD Aerospace, based in Cheshire, England, designs and manufactures the FlightVu range of aerospace video products. In addition to general aircraft security applications such as threat detection, physical security and access control, these systems can be used for monitoring activity on the flightdeck, in the cabin and for cargo surveillance. AD Aerospace Ltd, part of the AD Holdings PLC group of companies, is a CAA-approved designer and manufacturer of video camera systems for commercial aerospace application. AD hold CAA E-1, JAR-21 Sub Part G, JAR-145 and ISO9001 and are approved by The Boeing Company. AD Holdings Inc. is incorporated in Atlanta, Georgia, to provide sales and first line service support to the AD product range. FLIGHTVU CCTV SYSTEMSThe generic term for all our camera (CCTV) systems is FlightVu. These are manufactured to be fitted in fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters. These systems can be split into five main categories: WITNESS PASSENGER PROTECTION SYSTEMWitness is a server-based system for the protection of passengers in the airliner cabin. This consists of a network of internally mounted cameras joined to a recorder/server with 'Panic' pushbuttons for the crew to use in the event of an incident (anything from disruptive passengers to terrorist acts). The FlightVu Witness camera systems can be easily promoted to your passengers by placing emphasis on your concerns for their safety and protection. CABINVU FLIGHTDECK MONITORING SYSTEMThe CabinVu entry-level system allows the flightdeck crew to see outside their locked cabin door. It consists of a single or multiple cameras surveying the area outside the flight deck door and providing a live feed to a monitor positioned in view of both pilot stations. This allows the pilots to identify persons requesting entry and to detect suspicious behaviour or potential threat in line with ICAO standards. DEFENDER AIRCRAFT SECURITY SYSTEMDefender is a server-based system for securing VIP aircraft on the ground. It consists of a network of internally and externally mounted cameras joined to a recorder/server with Video Motion Detection. Alarmed video signals are fed to an onboard recorder where they are digitised, compressed and stored on a removable hard drive. Local review of the stored video can be achieved via a standard laptop PC connected to the ethernet output on the aircraft recorder unit. SMOKEVU SMOKE VERIFICATION SYSTEMThe SmokeVu smoke verification system consists of a network of cameras and a flightdeck monitor (live viewing only). It can be extended to a server-based system with additional software to aid the pilot in distinguishing between smoke, humidity and haze. SPECTATOR IN-FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMThe Spectator in-flight entertainment system consists of an underbelly pair of cameras and/or a fin camera and allows live viewing giving every passenger a window seat view.
