ADAC Luftfahrt Technik - Helicopter Maintenance and Repair

ADAC Luftfahrt Technik is one of Europe's most outstanding MRO organisations. Our strengths encompass safety, quality, continuity, a high level of workforce flexibility, and many years of experience in helicopter maintenance and repair. Approved as an aviation engineering organisation according to EASA part 145, the company provides a wide range of services for helicopters.

ADAC Luftfahrt Technik is based at the Bonn-Hangelar aerodrome in Sankt Augustin. The company has two other sites at Halle-Oppin aerodrome as well as Landshut-Ellermühle aerodrome in Landshut.

The company has more than 90 qualified and highly motivated employees, including many certified to approve aircraft according to IASA part 66, experts that ensure that ADAC Luftfahrt Technik's customers can always take their helicopters up into the air safely.

HELICOPTER FLEET MANAGEMENT

ALT took on the ADAC fleet's management at the start of the strategic alliance between ADAC Luftrettung and ADAC Luftfahrt Technik; ALT has gathered a wealth of experience in optimising control and availability covering all technical and commercial aspects. This gives customers the time they need to concentrate on their own core competency, flying.

We currently support more than 50 helicopters, and this has given us at ADAC Luftfahrt Technik extensive experience in maintenance and repairs on the following models:

  • PW 206 series
  • TM Arrius
  • TM Arriel
  • Lycoming LTS-750

Over the past ten years, ADAC Luftfahrt Technik has successfully serviced BK117 models for more than 60,000 flight hours, EC135 for more than 50,000 flight hours, and MD Explorer helicopters for more than 10,000 flight hours.

LONG-TERM HELICOPTER MODIFICATION

Intensive long-term helicopter and aircraft operation involves constant technical modification. Our strengths lie in implementing these modifications in the following areas:

  • Avionics, electrical systems and aviation electronics
  • Alterations, upgrades, modifications
  • Retrofitting and revamping
  • Flight cabin and cockpit equipment

We provide our customers with a complete single-partner system management service. We are working towards the development of specialist approval according to EASA part 21 for avionics and electrical systems with a view to providing a single, complete source of retrofitting and revamping engineering services in the future. This service will range from preparing engineering documentation through alterations on aircraft to providing EASA part 145 repair services.

HELICOPTER PAINTING SERVICE

Painting an aircraft involves utmost care, improper handling in the preparation phase can lead to damage limiting the airworthiness of the aircraft, damage that will involve serious financial investment to remedy. Specific points need to be observed in preparing and carrying out a paint job on a helicopter in order to guarantee high-quality, durable paintwork satisfying the requirements of aviation operations.

ADAC Luftfahrt Technik's experienced staff together with a modern paint booth at the company's new premises ensure top quality in all paint jobs. We paint helicopters up to the size of an EC-155 or Bell 427, and individual parts up to 7m long, 3m wide and 4m high.

HELICOPTER MAINTENANCE AND MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

ADAC Luftfahrt Technik have recently introduced an innovative web-based software system designed by RAMCO Systems; the package has already been successfully deployed by helicopter fleet operators such as Petroleum Helicopters (PHI), Air-Methods and ERA. Modern web-based technology opens up a variety of new opportunities in helicopter servicing and documentation.

Together with ADAC Luftrettung, virtually paperless work documentation and historical record will be introduced, with electronic signatures for documentation required for official purposes such as audits. The electronic historical record provides information on aircraft status for viewing at any time.

QUALITY ASSURED AIRCRAFT REPAIRS

All work on any aircraft must be approved by a licensed aviation equipment examiner. A high standard of work is ensured by constant internal quality assurance audits that reflect rules and regulations laid down by statute and the EASA while securing their compliance.
