EMTEQ’s entity in Canada, Aero Consulting Services Ltd and Northern Aero Industries Ltd (ACS-NAI), received AS9100 certification registration in late August. As the leading quality system management standard in the aviation and aerospace industries, the certificate is an important step forward in retaining current clients and securing future business from customers who require compliance with an approved and regulated system, which is continuously being improved by an unbiased third party.
Linda Thurston, ACS-NAI’s quality assurance manager and project coordinator explains: “One of the biggest advantages of becoming certified was having our processes defined to ensure a constant methodology is applied by everyone. Having defined processes also shows everyone what their roles and responsibilities are.”
She continues: “We’re using this system to bring improvement ideas to the forefront of our management team…employees feel that their suggestions are making a difference, which betters the organization."
ACS and NAI complete monthly internal audits to verify compliance to AS9100 and other regulatory requirements, such as Transport Canada. TUV Canada of Cambridge, Ontario, issued the AS9100 certificates.
