TRANSAS Aviation - Avionics, Engineering and Flight Simulators

Transas is a leading Russian company engaged in the development and production of airborne navigational systems and a wide range of plane and helicopter simulators, from flight training devices to full mission simulators, as well as FNPT (Flight and Navigation Procedures Trainer) simulators.

Transas' avionics range consists of multifunctional displays, airborne moving map systems, TAWS (Terrain Awareness and Warning System), flight management systems and map generators. Aeronautical support provided by Transas includes aeronautical information, topographical information and digital elevation models. Transas also offers the following software products: visual system for simulators modernization and flight planning stations.

AVIATION FLIGHT PLANNING AND FLIGHT MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

The Transas Airborne Moving Map System (AMMS) is designed for the flight preparation and planning, chart support at all the flight stages, processing of information from the interfaced systems, output of information to the interfaced systems, as well as for making navigator calculations, both before and during the flight.

Transas' TAWS (TTA-12) is a computer-based system providing the flight crews with visual and acoustic alerts about the unintentional flight into the terrain, taking into account the flight stage, flight crew response time and aircraft speed.

Airborne multi-functional displays (TDS-10LH, TDS-10LL, TDS-10PH, TDS-10PL and TDS-56) are designed for displaying the status of common aeroplane systems, engines and failure alerts. The TNC-1G flight management system is intended for use at all flight stages (taxiing, take-off, approach, landing and parking).

The system for the generation of chart information (MAP Generator) is designed for the formation of a chart display and connection to the electronic flight instrument systems and multi-functional display units.

FLIGHT SIMULATORS FOR PILOT TRAINING

Using our world experience of producing simulator systems, Transas has developed its own concept for building up simulators, which has enabled Transas to produce a family of flight simulators from training devices to full mission simulators. The distinctive feature of the simulators under development consists in the modular principle, which ensures versatility of the structure and allows modeling of all the airplanes and helicopters of various types and modifications.

Transas offers its visual system for simulator upgrades. This system represents a stand-alone software product based on the use of 3D graphics. Owing to the developed technology, TRANSAS offers various level simulators for the pilot training ranging from a PCATD (Personal Computer-based Aviation Training Devices) to full-flight simulators.

AERONAUTICAL SUPPORT

By operating any of products by Transas you obtain a capability to use a complete set of aeronautical information necessary during the flight preparation or execution. To provide the aircraft crews with aeronautical databases, Transas offers the following types of service:

• Lido FlightNav - intended for the supply to airlines making flights worldwide
• NaviJet - used for IFR flights in the airspace of the Russian Federation
• NaviProp - designed for the support of helicopter and general aviation VFR flights
• NaviField - airdrome objects electronic data and NaviTAWS, which is a specially developed service for the aircraft making flights with the use of TAWS

All the airborne and ground support systems manufactured by Transas are provided with "Digital Chart of the World (DCW)" topographic maps produced on the basis of Operational Navigational Charts (ONC) by the US Defense Ministry. These maps are on 1:1 000 000 scale and cover the entire globe.

A Digital Elevation Model (DEM) reproduces the terrain by using point elevation information referenced to the nodes of a rather fine regular grid, and is a digital presentation of the terrain elevation features on a topographic map.
