TeKnol - Inertial / GPS Integrated Navigation, Control and Guidance Solutions

TeKnol is a Russian leading manufacturer of MEMS-GPS integrated navigation systems and related products for airborne applications: manned and unmanned aerial vehicle navigation; control; guidance; and flight parameter determination.

The first Russian serial MEMS INS product, CompaNav-2, combines the effective costs and compactness of MEMS technology with the performance and robustness of a standard Inertial Navigation System (INS) integrated with a GPS receiver.

The UAV flight control system (INS-powered UAV autopilot) is a state-of-the-art product bringing true inertial technology even to mini UAV platforms. The PGS-A is a portable glass-cockpit system implementing the features of EFIS, TAWS and EFB.

The line of TeKnol Inertial Systems is a cost-effective navigation and guidance solution for a wide range of applications on the basis of technology cooperation and products localisation.

COMPANAV-2 MEMS-GPS INTEGRATED AIRCRAFT NAVIGATION SYSTEM

CompaNav-2 is an integrated INS / GPS navigation system designed specifically for aviation applications. This compact low-power system works in any type of fixed-wing or rotor air vehicle (manned or unmanned) providing a total navigation solution with outstanding characteristics at a competitive total cost. The accuracy specification of the CompaNav-2 was proven during a flight-test session in the Russian Flight Research Institute.

AUTONOMOUS ATTITUDE AND HEADING REFERENCE SYSTEM

The Autonomous Attitude and Heading Reference System (MEMS AHRS) is designed with standard MEMS COTS sensors and electronic components. The use of original calibration and sensor-error compensation algorithms assures it can be used as a standalone system. The external magnetic compass provides the heading determination.

The system is intended for use on platforms, where the non-certified instruments can be applied for control, guidance and stabilisation.

ATTITUDE AND HEADING REFERENCE SYSTEM

The Attitude and Heading Reference System (TekHARS) has fibre-optic gyros as sensors. The system provides the autonomous determination of pitch and roll angles. The external magnetic compass provides the heading determination.

The system can work both in autonomous inertial mode and GPS integrated mode. Due to original navigation algorithms, the system is capable of calculating the autonomous coordinates in dead reckoning mode during a limited time interval (one hour).

STRAPDOWN INERTIAL NAVIGATION SYSTEM

The TeKnol's Strapdown Inertial Navigation System (SINS-Tek) has fibre-optic gyros with 0.1°/hr drift-rate sensors. The original navigation algorithm provides the standalone inertial coordinates determination at the level of a medium-accuracy grade INS.

The system is intended for use in airborne and land objects and can integrate the external sensors' data into a GNSS receiver or odometer system.

PGS-A: PORTABLE GLASS COCKPIT SYSTEM

PGS-A is a complete flight and aircraft navigation instrumentation system, which is portable and fully independent from aircraft onboard systems. It includes an ultra-compact integrated inertial navigation system, a GPS receiver, and a ruggedised tablet computer with a 10.4in LCD screen as an indicator.

The PGS-A flight and aircraft navigation system provides an Electronic Flight Instrumentation System (EFIS), a Terrain Awareness Warning System (TAWS), a Flight Management System (FMS), and an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB).

The proprietary predictive flight guidance technology provides the pilot with clear synthetic vision indication of flight parameters, including primary flight display, colour digital terrain, and a database of airports and obstacles.

The PGS-A flight and aircraft navigation system can be installed in any helicopter cockpit, bringing its performance to the level of modern electronic glass cockpits. The PGS-A is approved by Russian flight authorities for use in Mi-8 and Mi-17 helicopters.

TEKFCS UAV AIRCRAFT NAVIGATION AND FLIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM

The TekFCS UAV aircraft navigation and flight control system provides the capability for fully-automatic flight to nearly every fixed-wing flying platform. It includes an inertial system integrated with a GPS receiver, autopilot module and an optional flight data recorder.

The TekFCS UAV aircraft navigation and flight control system is a flight-proven solution providing:

  • Determination of attitude angles, coordinates and motion parameters (angular rates, accelerations)
  • UAV guidance and flight control when performing programmed automatic flight
  • 255 pre-programmed waypoints
  • Pitch and roll angle stabilisation
  • Navigation and attitude telemetry data output
  • Programmed payload control

The TekFCS is compatible with conventional Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) radio remote control. The autopilot module generates Pulse Wide Modulated (PWM) control commands applicable to most conventional servos.

The TekFCS UAV aircraft navigation and flight control system is now in use in several UAV systems provided by TeKnol and its customers worldwide.
